As a reminder of the need for constant vigilance, we set aside the month of September as National Preparedness Month.
To promote timely and responsible emergency preparedness, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) encourages everyone to join the National Preparedness Community. As a local official, you can promote this effort to help your municipality and all Americans better prepare to face and respond to disasters and emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. As a National Preparedness Month Community Member, your efforts to bring emergency preparedness to your locality can make a difference.
You can visit the National Preparedness Community website athttp://community.fema.gov/connect.ti/readynpm/grouphome to register and to get all the details to share with local families and businesses about FEMA’s four-fold program for preparedness: “Collect, Collaborate, Educate and Empower.”
