South Toms River Borough To Recognize Community Heroes

South Toms River, NJ – On Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 6:30 pm, The Borough of South Toms River will host a ceremony honoring those who went above and beyond to assist those in need during trying times.The event, marking approximately one year since Sandy’s devastation, will take place at South Toms River Elementary School, located at 419 Dover Rd. Toms River, and will honor individuals as well as organizations that have volunteered their assistance during the rebuilding process of our shore community.

“The true representation of community is reflected in the combined efforts of many. We must recognize those altruistic efforts. It is a simple gesture to honor those who contributed so much to our community,” stated Mayor Joseph M. Champagne.

The ceremony is free for all and we are encouraging all to attend. If you know someone who deserves recognition, please submit their name with a brief description of their volunteer efforts during the past year to Names will be considered for recognition until October 1st, and recipients will be notified shortly after.
